NATHAN + ASHLYN - VAIL WINTER WEDDING
CUCINA AND THE 10th AT VAIL RESORT, COLORADO
Colorado Mountain Wedding Photographer
PART ONE
Over the year (and a few months) that I had been in contact with Nathan and Ashlyn about their wedding, there were a few themes I kept hearing. One, they wanted a beautiful 'Winter Wonderland' wedding in Vail. And two, how they wanted to treat their friends and family to the best experience they could possibly give them. They didn't just want this to be a wedding, they wanted this to be a full experience.... a true Colorado adventure wedding for around 80 of their friends and family members. And an experience it absolutely was. The bride and groom, along with many of their guests, came from out of state for the wedding weekend. They stayed right in the heart of Vail Village at the historic Lodge at Vail was the cornerstone property when Vail Mountain first opened in the early 60's with one gondola, two chair lifts, eight ski instructors and lift tickets that only cost $5. When I arrived at the Lodge with my awesome second shooter for the day - Casey Flock (a huge thank you to Casey for her amazing contribution for the day and being someone I could truly depend on!), Ashlyn swung open the door to greet us. The first thing out of her mouth was "Callie! I have an idea!" And she proceeded to tell me how she had already called maintenance to get her a ladder tall enough to hang her wedding dress in the window of their two story room. After photographing all of the beautiful details she and Nathan had picked out and a few getting ready photos... we headed over to the Gondola in Vail's Main Village to head up the mountain with Nathan a little bit before Ashlyn. We picked an area where we had a bit more privacy and could be out of the way of the skiers and snowboarders and ended up with a gorgeous mountain view. When Nathan turned around and saw Ashlyn for the first time in her wedding gown, his glasses fogged up a bit and we got some cheers from the skiers and snowboarders who had stopped in the distance to watch. They exchanged their rings before we took their portraits and just enjoyed the time together. Make sure you click at the bottom to visit part two to see the rest of their portraits (I blog in order!), ceremony at Cucina at the Lodge at Vail and their reception at the 10th on Vail Mountain! We hope you enjoy! Make sure you check out the list of all of the wonderful people who
