NATHAN + ASHLYN - VAIL WINTER WEDDING
CUCINA AND THE 10th AT VAIL RESORT, COLORADO
Colorado Mountain Wedding Photographer
PART TWO
So excited you are here for PART TWO! If you haven't looked at Part One, please do that now. The entire reason I blog is so you can see the full story of the day! And I hate skimping on photos so, I usually end up with two posts!
Anyway, catching up where we left off, we finished up the photos on Vail Mountain around their reception venue (the 10th) and then headed down to meet the bridal party at the famous Covered Bridge in Vail, already decorated for December and the holiday season and then photos with family before Ashlyn headed back up to Hair and Makeup for a refresh before the ceremony. She didn't need too much this time, but it is always a good idea after a mountain top first look (in any season) to have a hair and makeup artist available for touch-ups so you don't look like you were just on the top of the mountain! Just after dusk, the ceremony inside Cucina began. It was such a romantic ceremony inside the rustic restaurant and made for such a cozy setting. Immediately following the ceremony, Nathan, Ashlyn and I hitched a ride (a HUGE thank you to the private car service at the Lodge at Vail for taking care of us!) over to Lionshead Village where the ice arena sets up under the twinkling lights each winter in Vail Square. We only had about 10 minutes to hop in and out of the cars, run over to the outdoor ice rink and take some photos, but it was TOTALLY worth it. Nathan and Ashlyn's reception venue (the picture above and the first photo below us) is a very unique venue for weddings. All of the guests must go up the gondola after the resort is already closed for the evening to get to it. On their way up the gondola, they rode past an enormous and spectacular sight that had the entire town of Vail chattering.... a huge monogram projected onto the ski slopes announcing the marriage of Nathan and Ashlyn. This was the first time this had EVER been done at Vail.
The guests were wow'd like this all night... following their gondola ride and their ride on the snowcat (or walk) over to the 10th, they were greeted with drinks, a spectacularly decorated venue and a massive Ice Sculpture that actually served as an "Ice Luge" for their signature drink. The night was filled with laughs and dancing... maybe even a little bit of singing from Ashlyn and her ladies. And truly gave all of their guests a spectacular day to remember celebrating their marriage.
Check out those pockets!
Thanks to my amazing second shooter Casey Flock for all of the wonderful behind the scenes photos! So fun to actually show you guys a little bit of me working!
There is always an amazing friend or family member at every wedding... who literally just makes sure everyone is well taken care of.
Make sure you hug that person next time you see them!
