Routt National Forest Intimate Wedding
Steamboat Wedding Photographer
This intimate wedding is proof that your wedding can be exactly what you want it to be. It can be really out in the middle of nowhere with the people you love the most. Jordan and Katie chose a location out in the middle of nowhere. They actually had to put a set of coordinates on their wedding invitation. They both got ready in their AirBNBs in Steamboat before we all hopped into a party bus with Jordan blindfolded in the back and Katie climbed up in her Dad's truck for the drive out to their ceremony spot. One of their close friends is a wedding planner in Texas and truly did an incredible job executing their vision with the help of many other friends and family members. I will say that this wedding was one of the most wonderful scenes of loving friends and family members coming together to help the couple have the best wedding day, but simultaneously a couple who truly prioritized their guests and were amazing hosts, showing their friends and family a wonderful time. I truly just cannot describe what an amazing day this was. After 14 years, this was probably my favorite intimate wedding (weddings with approx. 20-30 guests) I've ever photographed. Colorado Intimate Weddings have been SUPER popular over the past several years and I have photographed several really good ones, but this one was just super unique and exceptionally well done. (They even got a visit from the ranger wishing them a wonderful wedding day!) Steamboat Weddings are some of my favorite to photograph. Steamboat still feels like old Colorado, the Colorado I grew up in, so it's always a joy when people choose it for their big day! I am so thankful I photograph 4-6 weddings up there annually these days!
Getting Ready Photos at Steamboat Springs AirBNB
Those custom bedazzled Nike's have a special detail that most of you wouldn't catch! The laces were from Katie's old cleats!
Steamboat Party Buses
After taking a fun drive with the groom and all the guests, we all arrived at the ceremony site. Most of the ceremony decor was dropped off and set up that morning, so a few guests hopped off to quickly set up the rest of the ceremony + their toast table set up. This truly was one of the best Steamboat Springs Wedding sites I've seen! Tucked away in a massive Aspen grove, the little glade was covered with fallen leaves and made an incredible canvas for their ceremony space.
Once everything was set up, their guests found their seats and their ceremony began with one of Katie's sister officiating.
Immediately following the ceremony, the Jordan and Katie wanted to share a glass of prosecco with their guests to celebrate their marriage.
They also had the sweetest little charcuterie boxes waiting for each guest.
When Grooms show up to make their Brides laugh!
We took time in between some of the couple shots to get family and friends photos!
And then we jumped back in the party bus for the 40ish minute ride back to Steamboat for their dinner at Aurum right on the river.
With a brief detour for some pretty side of the road photos
to get a little more of the fall color!
Back to the Party Bus!
And of course once we were back in Steamboat we had to get some beautiful and classic Steamboat Wedding Photos with the fall color, the twinkling lights and the alpenglow in the back! We couldn't have asked for better timing getting back right at the perfect time! (MAYBE someone planned that ;) )
And they ended the night with a private reception at Aurum on the river in Steamboat.
I hope you enjoyed this gorgeous Steamboat Wedding Day!
